12th September// Stephen & I finally got married a week ago today and as much as I’ve been trying to wait till we receive all our photos back before sharing I simply just can’t, Becy @belleartphotography has just captured every emotion in the images from our Glen Etive elopement and I can’t wait to show you a few and the dry florals I created. I’m quickly posting this from the balcony in sunny Sardinia which feels a world away from the driech, moody hills of Scotland. I’ll be back in office on the 28th so please bare with me if you are after quotes- I left my diary at home on purpose. I know my couples will understand it’s not been easy planning a wedding right now so this rest is very welcome! We’ll be back soon with lots of micro weddings to share with you! love Lucy (& Stephen)

Floristry Is Changing.// One of my favourite things to do at the moment is pretending to defy gravity balancing flower stems into a wee kenzan pin holder like this and I love the simplicity of them for use in wedding tablescapes. Florists all over are rejoicing in the release of A Guide To Floral Mechanics by Sarah Diligent & William Mazuch @floribundaroseflorists and Mountain Daisy are no different. The books popularity just highlights that floristry really is changing and helps us plan your beautiful florals using sustainable elements. A Leopard Never Changes It's Spots// Early on in Mountain Daisy days I used to ask every bride do they want white or cream in their wedding florals. Oh how this has changed! Pairing creams, whites and everything in-between creates the perfect merge of tones. Also if your dress is ivory or off white what colour is that anyways!? Smell, Touch & Create// Today I put aside a few hours to cut from the garden and mix with some dry bits to create something unplanned. I'm really enjoying putting together all our dry bouquets and this week finally thought about my own elopement flowers. The beauty of dry florals is they don't need to be in season and you can put together flowers that don't get to normally meet in the garden. It won't be long until I'll be making some fresh bridal bouquets and I really can't wait, these garden roses smell unreal. Ribbons// @northern_hands

Weekend Wondering// Is it just me or does it feel like weekends are back? After months of BBQs for the two of us and checking if the veg in the green house has grown at least twice a day it’s nice to get a wee bit of normality back. This weekend we’ve filled up the car for what feels like the first time in months and are road tripping with a few OS Maps. We are in search of somewhere for our wee elopement in September and finally get a little wedding excitement back! The Bridal Bouquet// I look forward to handing over each and every bouquet I make and getting to see our bride and groom on the morning of one of the biggest days of their lives is so special and such a privilege. The planning process for your florals is months and sometimes years in the making, bouquets come in so many shapes, sizes and can portray any vibe and reflect you and your style so it's so important to get it right. I designed this beast of a bouquet for our unwedding day shoot to be romantic, wild and include so many ingredients you notice something new every time you look at it and for it to be so big (and heavy) that its designed to be held casually to the side.
